How long do the 15L oxygen canisters last in storage?

Each canister contains 15L of 99% pure oxygen and carries a 2-year guarantee on the seal. Stored in a cool, dry place, canisters can last well beyond that. The gauge on your regulator lets you check oxygen levels anytime, so you'll always know your kit is ready before you need it.

How many canisters do I need?

Depends on your pet's weight and how you'll use them. At 0.5 LPM (small pets), one canister delivers about 30 minutes of oxygen. At 3.0 LPM (large pets), about 5 minutes. Pet parents managing chronic conditions often keep a few extras on hand, while transport or emergency users typically order 3–6 to match their kit's runtime. Per shipping regulations, canisters ship UPS ground only.

What is a Venturi Kit and do I need one?

The Venturi Kit precisely controls the oxygen percentage inside your oxygen chamber by mixing room air with the pure oxygen from your concentrator. It also multiplies total airflow through the chamber, which disperses carbon dioxide, heat, and humidity to keep your pet safe and comfortable. A Venturi Kit is included with every PureVent Oxygen Chamber — most customers only purchase a standalone Venturi Kit if they need a replacement or have an older chamber.

How do I choose the right Venturi adapter color?

Each colored adapter sets a specific oxygen saturation level: 25%, 28%, 35%, 40%, 50%, or 60%. Always follow your veterinarian's prescribed oxygen level. If your vet didn't specify, the red 40% adapter is the most commonly prescribed and safest starting point — but call your vet to confirm before each therapy session.

What size PureVent oxygen mask do I need?

Choose by your pet's weight, not species. Small masks fit pets under 11 lbs; medium masks fit pets 11–22 lbs; large masks fit pets over 22 lbs. The masks work for any animal in the weight range — cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits, small mammals, and birds. When in doubt, size up.

Can I use generic or aftermarket parts with my Pawprint Oxygen system?

We strongly recommend sticking with Pawprint Oxygen accessories. Our regulators are calibrated to specific flow rates for pet weight ranges and designed only to work with our canisters, our masks are sized for proper fit on animal anatomy, and our Venturi adapters deliver precise oxygen percentages your vet has prescribed. Off-brand or generic equipment, particularly the inexpensive options sold on marketplaces like Amazon, often can't deliver accurate flow rates or proper saturation levels — meaning your pet may not be getting the therapy they actually need.

Do any of these accessories require a prescription?

No. Canisters, masks, regulators, tubing, Venturi kits, travel cases, and replacement parts all ship over the counter. Only our medical-grade oxygen concentrators require a prescription.

How fast will my order ship?

Orders placed Monday–Friday before 3:30 PM EST ship the same day. Continental US only (excluding HI and PR). Per federal regulations, orders containing oxygen canisters ship UPS ground only — they cannot be expedited or shipped via USPS. Non-canister accessories can ship via faster methods at checkout.
