Common FAQs
Please view our full FAQ section with more questions and answers, give us a call or chat with a Pawprint representative if you have additional questions.
Does this Oxygen Chamber require a prescription?
No the chamber itself does not require a prescription, but the oxygen source (either a 5 or 10L oxygen concentrator) does require an RX.
What size Oxygen Chamber should I get?
We recommend measuring your pet and comparing their measurements to the dimensions of each chamber size. Your pet should be able to fit comfortably in the chamber both when standing up and when laying down. When in doubt, size up!
Chamber dimensions:
Medium: 25″ x 18″ x 20″
Large: 44" x 26" x 26"
How do I set the oxygen saturation level inside the chamber?
The PureVent Oxygen Chamber comes with multi-colored fittings that allow you to select the oxygen saturation level that is recommended by your veterinarian. These fittings are called Venturi Adaptors, and they set the saturation level of oxygen by mixing room air with the oxygen supply from the Oxygen Concentrator.
The Venturi kit multiplies the total airflow to the system, which is critical to displacing heat, humidity, and the toxic carbon dioxide that your pet is exhaling in the oxygen cage.
The available oxygen settings are: 25%, 28%, 35%, 40%, 50%, and 60%. The most commonly used setting is the 40% Venturi, but you should ask your veterinarian about the best oxygen saturation level for your pet.
What oxygen supply do I need for this Oxygen Chamber?
In order to achieve safe levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, heat, and humidity inside the PureVent Oxygen Chamber, you need to supply it with a continuous flow, medical-grade Oxygen Concentrator. Your Oxygen Concentrator needs to be able to produce >90% oxygen at flow rates from 5 to 10 liters per minute.
The Medium PureVent Oxygen Chamber requires a flow rate of at least 5 liters per minute.
The Large PureVent Oxygen Chamber requires a flow rate of at least 10 liters per minute.
What is included with my Oxygen Chamber purchase?
Please note that the chamber itself does not produce or contain oxygen and it is imperative that you have a safe oxygen source to use with this item.
Each oxygen chamber purchase includes the full Venturi System, 7 feet of oxygen tubing, comfort mat and a carrying case to store your cage when folded up.
The air flow coming into the chamber doesn’t feel like a lot, is that normal?
This is very normal! Even at the highest flow, there will not be a strong blast of air entering the chamber. You should feel the oxygen flowing inside the port, but this should be gentle and free of noise.

The venturi kit has several adapters to safely mix room air with your continuous oxygen supply to achieve the exact oxygen level prescribed.

By using the Venturi system, you can achieve the prescribed oxygen percentage recommended by your veterinarian.
